How to Manage Change in Your Life

In this episode of Entrepreneur Life I talk about how the loss of my father 21-years ago completely changed my view of the world and of my place in it. It was an incredibly difficult period and it took me a very long time, but, eventually I processed the change and in the end turned it into a positive force for guiding the decisions I now make in my life.

How do you feel about change in your life?

Proactive change is the act of us taking control of our destiny, driving our lives towards a future that (hopefully) better reflects our vision and beliefs.

Sometimes change comes from out of the blue. In 1999, my father passed away quite suddenly when I was 23. It took me 5+ years to properly come through a process of change that was really quite horrible. But, whether it's change in our personal or business lives, whether unexpected or managed, I have come to believe that change, (correctly managed and with the right amount of time) 'can' be a positive force in our lives.

I believe that if we can muster the bravery and confidence in our convictions to embrace change, that we can use it to our advantage. We can use it as a vehicle with which we can literally re-create elements of our lives and ourselves to become closer to the person that we want to be.

How has change affected your life? Has it helped or hindered?
